Colombia La Luz Helena is a washed Caturra grown at 1,200–1,500 meters in Quindío, produced by Luz Helena Salazar at her family farm La Leona near Armenia, and roasted light — cupping with honey, green apple, and milk ice cream. It is Colombian coffee in its most elegant register: not a fruit bomb, not a chocolate slab, but a precise, softly sweet cup where everything sits exactly in place.

Quindío lies in the heart of Colombia's famed coffee axis, the mountainous belt whose small farms, fertile soils, and generations of accumulated craft define the country's coffee identity. Luz Helena Salazar has grown coffee here for more than twenty years, and in recent seasons has turned that experience toward specialty production — tighter picking, more careful processing, and lots like this one that put her name on the bag.

The washed process and light roast are both in service of transparency: delicate honey sweetness, a juicy green-apple freshness, and a creamy finish that tasters describe as milk ice cream. If you drink your coffee as pour-over and value finesse over force, this is the Colombian for you. For the same region pushed in the opposite direction, try the natural-processed Colombia Helena Natural; for more coffees in this bright register, browse Bright & Fruity.
