Private Reserve

Private Reserve is the deep end of the catalog: coffees defined by scarcity, pedigree, or a name that carries decades of legend. These aren't everyday drinkers — they're the bottles-from-the-cellar equivalent, brought out when the moment or the guest deserves it.

Two residents need no introduction. Jamaica Blue Mountain is arguably the most storied name in coffee, grown in a tightly protected Jamaican highland region and prized for its famously smooth, refined cup. Kopi Luwak is coffee's great conversation piece — the rare Indonesian curiosity people cross oceans to try. Around them sit quieter treasures: two Ethiopian lots from Karamo (a pristine washed) and Alo Mosto, the Panama Lerida Pacamara Natural — Pacamara being the big-beaned variety competition judges adore — and Mexico La Perla.

Are rare coffee beans worth the price?

When the rarity is real, yes — you're paying for provenance, tiny yields, and hand-selection, not a label. Our rule as buyers is that the cup has to justify the story: every reserve lot still goes through the same scoring as the rest of our range. Brew these carefully — weigh your dose, use a filter method first — and split a bag with someone who'll appreciate the occasion.
