Distribution, Not Tamping — and Basket Size Matters

The Navigator doesn't tamp the coffee bed; it distributes and levels it beforehand, the step that normally happens by hand with a WDT tool immediately after grinding and before tamping. It ships with two interchangeable needle heads sized for 18–20 g and 20–22 g portafilter baskets — check which range matches your basket before ordering, since the wrong needle size won't seat or distribute correctly.

Because it's handheld and battery-powered rather than mounted to a grinder or counter, the Navigator works with any portafilter basket in its supported size range, independent of grinder brand. It's a companion tool to a PUQpress tamper, not a replacement for one — pair it with the Mini, Q, or Q PRO for the full grind-distribute-tamp workflow.
