Burundi Muyinga is a coffee with a rich and harmonious flavor, blending the freshness of juicy blackberry, the delicate sweetness of honey, and the gentle aroma of a crispy biscuit. The fruity notes of blackberry contribute to the light, sweet acidity, while the smoothness of honey brings balance to the taste with its subtlety. The Heart of Burundi

Originating from Muyinga Province, located in the northern part of Burundi, this coffee is grown in picturesque hills with an average altitude ranging from 1500 to 1700 meters. The volcanic soil and favorable climate of the region create optimal conditions for cultivating the Red Bourbon variety, renowned for its delightful notes of sweetness, caramel, and chocolate. The province of Muyinga provides the perfect environment for coffee cultivation, contributing to the distinct flavor profile of Burundi Muyinga.

Processing and Sustainability

Since 2021, the coffee has been skillfully processed at the Karambo washing station, under the capable leadership of Etienne Girukwishaka. This facility serves approximately 2000 farmers from the region, whose collective farms span over 50 hectares. The coffee plays a vital role in Burundi’s economy, serving as a crucial source of income for many families. By supporting education and infrastructure development, this coffee contributes significantly to improving the livelihoods of local communities.
