White tea and green tea start from the same plant, Camellia sinensis, but diverge immediately at processing. White tea is simply withered and dried — the lightest possible touch, with no heat-fixing or rolling — while green tea is heat-treated within hours of picking specifically to halt oxidation before it can develop the deeper character found in oolong or black tea. Blending finished white and green tea together, rather than choosing one or the other, means White Angel carries both leaf styles' distinct textures and flavors side by side in the same cup, instead of the more common approach of layering flavorings onto a single tea base.

Both teas in this blend are sourced from China, the origin for most of the world's white tea production and one of the two major traditions (alongside Japan) for green tea processing methods like pan-firing and steaming.

Onto that dual base, White Angel adds chamomile for floral sweetness, cinnamon and clove for warm spice, and a light hint of coconut. Cinnamon and clove are both genuine spices with centuries of trade history behind them — cinnamon from the inner bark of Cinnamomum trees, clove from the dried flower buds of the clove tree — long-established additions to tea blending well before flavored tea became a modern retail category. Chamomile, meanwhile, is a daisy-family flower (Asteraceae) used in infusions on its own for at least as long, here folded into a true-tea blend rather than standing as its own tisane.
