Honduras Finca El Puente is a medium-roast, washed Catuai from the Chinacla highlands of La Paz, grown by Marysabel Caballero and Moisés Herrera — caramel, almond, and milk chocolate in a medium-to-full body with a sweet, elegant finish. Finca El Puente sits in Marcala, the region most closely associated with Honduras's rise as a serious specialty-coffee origin, and this lot shows the classic register that's made Honduran washed coffee a reliable, food-friendly choice: nutty, chocolatey, and rounded rather than sharply acidic.

Washed processing is what gives this cup its clarity — pulping the cherry and fermenting off the mucilage before drying lets the Catuai varietal's own sugars and nuttiness come through cleanly, without the fruitier, more unpredictable character a natural process would add. A medium roast then leans into that chocolate and caramel register rather than pushing toward the brighter, more floral profile a lighter roast would draw out.

DABOV also carries a washed Catuai from this same Chinacla farm and family under a different name and roast profile, Honduras Caballero — a fruitier, brown-sugar-and-raspberry lot at a lighter roast — plus a natural-processed Gesha from the same producers, Honduras Geisha. This one is the everyday-drinking answer of the three: an approachable, chocolate-forward cup that suits black coffee and milk drinks equally well. It's part of our Rich & Chocolatey collection.
