The Cup of Excellence (COE) is a prestigious program that recognizes the best coffee beans in the world. As a juror in the Cup of Excellence competition and an expert in the specialty coffee industry, Jordan Dabov has had the opportunity to taste and evaluate some of the finest coffees from around the globe.

The Cup of Excellence program, established in 1999 by the Alliance for Coffee Excellence (ACE), is a highly respected and internationally recognized initiative that aims to identify and award the finest coffees from around the globe. The competition is conducted annually in over 15 countries and is open to all coffee farmers, regardless of their size or location, providing a fair and equal opportunity for farmers of all levels to showcase their beans.

The selection process for the Cup of Excellence is rigorous. It includes a panel of highly qualified and experienced international experts, including coffee buyers, roasters, and cupping specialists. One of these experts is our own dedicated coffee hunter. These experts evaluate the coffees based on a set of strict and comprehensive criteria, including aroma, flavor, acidity, and body, to ensure that only the very best beans are awarded the COE title. The cupping process is conducted blind, meaning that the identities of the coffees and their producers are not revealed during the evaluation process, ensuring a fair and unbiased evaluation. The coffees that achieve the highest scores are awarded the Cup of Excellence trophy and are sold at an international auction, where buyers from around the world can purchase them.
